Patrick E. Mangan, ASD Patrick Mangan has served as a management consultant to The Sergio Corporation through a key time of growth and accomplishment before joining the executive leadership team as Executive Vice President. Patrick helped to develop The Sergio Corporation's disaster restoration company, First Response, into a national award winning restoration contractor. He also helped to develop First Response Restoration Network which brings together the resources of restoration contractors and specialty restoration vendors. He is also at the leading edge of Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Services. Patrick is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He is a motivational speaker and trainer addressing a wide array of business, management, marketing, public policy, public safety, government relations, risk management, disaster restoration and business continuity issues. He has extensive experience as a licensed Realtor and Real Estate Consultant. He also has experience as a licensed full lines Insurance Agent. He is also an ordained minister and has traveled around the world as a short-term Missionary training Pastors and working with the needy.
Christopher Macknick, WRT, ASD, AMRT Christopher Macknick joined the First Response team as an Estimating Specialist. With over 20 years experience in construction and restoration, Chris has developed a keen eye for detail. He has received specialized training and certification related to structural drying, remediation of fungal (mold) growth and microbial contamination: AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician); WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician); and ASD (Applied Structural Drying). Chris has lived in South Bend for over 30 years, he has one son, two dogs, and a fish and enjoys cooking, mushroom hunting and collects superballs. His favorite color is white and don't try to tell him white is not a color because what color is snow?
Jack White Jack White joined the First Response team as an Estimating Specialist with over 35 years experience in construction and restoration. He has received specialized training and certification related to structural drying, WRT and ASD. He also has certifications in Fire, Smoke, Lead and CHAMPS (Barrier Free Home Modification). Jack and his wife have lived in Westfield, Indiana for the past 6 years. They have one son, three daughters and seven grandchildren. In his spare time Jack enjoys camping, Nascar racing and golf.
Jim Overhulser, WRT, ASD, AMRT Jim Overhulser leads the Environmental Division of First Response. Besides holding a B.S. from Bethel College, he has received specialized training related to structural drying, remediation of fungal (mold) growth and microbial contamination: AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician); WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician); and ASD (Applied Structural Drying). Jim came to First Response with over three decades of construction and management experience. He has served hundreds of homeowners and property managers in caring for their properties. Jim serves our clients by managing our well-trained staff to rapidly dry various types of floods, to remediate microbial/fungal contamination, and in beginning the restoration process after disaster strikes. Jim had a key role in leading a team of over 40 workers to mitigate damages and to remediate gross contamination after a flash flood damaged the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs. Routinely, Jim and his staff respond to local emergencies and prevent mold growth after residential and commercial flooding with mitigation and remediation services. Jim is involved with the community of Bristol Indiana as a volunteer Fire Chaplain and firefighter. He and his wife have served in short-term missions and have two children with four grandchildren.
Dave Wack Dave is responsible for leading structural drying on Large Loss and is responsible for leading the Biohazard Remediation Department. He is an expert in operation and repair of restoration equipment. During the Hurricane Katrina Response, Dave was substantially responsible for the coordination, installation, monitoring and teardown of all First Response demolition, drying and ancillary equipment such as air movers, air conditioners, DeCon station, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, as well as diverse equipment such as bunk houses, computers, printers, etc. He was the first line of contact for all mechanical, electrical, and technical needs whether it was directed toward our clients, support personnel or the home office. Dave's presence and versatility in following through on daily and sometimes critical assignments is essential to delivering effective CAT & Large Loss services. Dave has an Associates Degree from Indiana State University in Electronics and Computer Technology. He has twenty years of experience in the electronics field specializing in Telecommunications. Dave has four children.
Bret A. Young Bret has worked for First Response for four years. He is one of the Superintendents for the Structure Division. Bret oversees the reconstruction of current jobs and organization of structural employees. Bret's duties include everyday operations of structural division keeping customers happy and employees going in the right direction. Bret has been in construction for eighteen years. Bret and his two children spend time riding horses and attending horse shows.
Ron Vincent Ron oversees our reconstruction division. Customer service is his specialty. He enjoys having the opportunity to help people rebuild their lives and get back to normal. Ron has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. His areas of expertise include residential, commercial, and industrial construction. He uses these skills on mission trips and to help in the community. Ron studied management and administration at Indiana University South Bend and is degreed as a Master Carpenter from Associated Builders and Contractors. Ron and his wife have been married over 20 years and have two children. In his leisure time, Ron enjoys drag racing his 1967 Chevelle SS, scuba diving, and hanging out with his family.
Denise Long Denise started at First Response in 1999 and is the Senior Project Administrator overseeing the Operations Department. This department processes incoming calls for losses, customer service, billing and collections. They are also the office support for the superintendents and field staff. Denise and her husband have four children and in her leisure time, she enjoys four wheeling, boating, reading and spending quality time with her family.
