Arts and Collectables Restoration
Services are available to restore water and damaged art, collectables and valuable heirlooms to their original state. Each painting, mural, picture frame, sculpture, photograph, figurine, print or collectable is given the detailed attention it deserves. Photographs and negatives, both black and white and color can also be salvaged and restored like new condition.
A variety of processes can be executed to restore water and fire damaged materials. Removal of surface dirt, mold or mildew and soot, deodorizing to remove smoke odors and the trimming of text block are the simplest methods of restoration. However, one of the most effective techniques is that of vacuum freeze-drying. This process provides mechanical straigntening of the book during drying in order to reduce the need for rebinding. Important documents, blueprints and maps can also be freeze-dried and restored to their original condition. Some books and bound documents may require even more sophisticated techniques to remove acidity and other contaminants or caustic bindery material.
