Angel Tree Sponsored by The Salvation Army

Location: South Bend, IN

Description of Work:

First Response and their employees donated toys and clothing items for 25 children this past Christmas.  First Response employees provided each child with the clothing they requested as well as the specific gifts they wanted for Christmas.

Along with the familiar Red Kettles, the Angel Tree program is one of The Salvation Army’s highest profile Christmas efforts.  Angel Tree was created by The Salvation Army in 1979 by Majors Charles and Shirley White when they worked with a Lynchburg, Virginia shopping mall to provide clothing and toys for children at Christmas time.  Since then, the tradition has expanded and is now the cornerstone of the Salvation Army’s Christmas efforts.
